Biography
Aaron Soltis is an LA-based film composer and pianist from Massillon, Ohio. He completed his undergraduate degree in Music Composition at the Nazareth University School of Music (NY) under the guidance of Octavio Vazquez and Haralabos [Harry] Stafylakis (composition) and Jacob Ertl (piano). His passion and eagerness to explore his love for composing through the lens of film, TV, and games has led to multiple collaborations with the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as well as multiple competitions and festivals. Aaron recently completed an internship with LA-based composer and orchestrator Philip Klein.
Aaron has received performances of his works in conferences such as the Midwest Clinic, ASTA, and Eastern NAFME, and has had premieres by groups such as Choral Chameleon, the Atlantic Brass Quintet, the Dodgen Middle School Chamber Orchestra, and the Larson & Choi Duo.
Aaron is a 2025 J.W. Pepper Editor’s Choice Pick and has won the 2024 Zicato Music Call for Scores, the 2024 Nazareth University Composition Competition, and was awarded Runner-Up at the 2023 SETC Best of Fringe Festival. He has also been named the 2025 Presser Scholar from The Presser Foundation, has received the Music Composition and Piano Performance awards, and has been recognized as the recipient of the Pi Happa Lambda David S. Boe Award at Nazareth University. His music is currently distributed by Zicato Music, JW Pepper, and Murphy Music Press.
